• Broad-tailed and Black-chinned Hummingbirds arrive. Be sure to have their feeders ready.
• Hummingbird nectar recipe: Mix 4 four parts water to one part table sugar... no red dye.
• Bullocks and Scott's Orioles begin to arrive. Place your orange-colored nectar feeder out in the open to entice flying orioles to your yard.
• Oriole nectar recipe: Mix six parts water to one part table sugar. Orioles also like oranges and grape jelly.
• Put out nesting materials for birds.
• Lesser Goldfinch are migrating to the mountains.
• Tree Swallows begin nesting late in month.
• Shorebirds pass through, showing their breeding plumage.
